▪ Brief

Retrofit of the existing wiring — added remote control and energy monitoring via Shelly modules, simplified the aging LED distribution (fewer PSUs, faulty one replaced), and moved critical circuits onto the PV backup branch so the house doesn't go dark and the fridge doesn't defrost during a mains outage.

  • /01 Shelly 1PM / 2PM / i4 modules behind existing switches in every room — remote control, energy metering and physical push-buttons without replacing the original switches
  • /02 Shelly RGBW PM for accent LED strips (colours, scenes, load monitoring)
  • /03 LED distribution simplified — fewer PSUs, the faulty one replaced, tidier cabling
  • /04 Shelly EM in the panel — whole-home and per-branch energy monitoring
  • /05 Critical breakers moved onto the PV backup branch — lighting and sockets stay live when the grid drops

  1. Day 1 Site survey, panel and LED distribution review.
  2. Days 2–3 Shelly 1PM / 2PM / i4 fitted behind existing switches, RGBW PM on the LED strips.
  3. Day 4 LED PSU consolidation, faulty PSU replaced.
  4. Day 5 Shelly EM in the panel, critical breakers moved onto PV backup.
  5. Day 6 Testing, scene configuration, handover.

One of the biggest comfort issues in my install was the lack of light switches by the bed in the bedroom. Thanks to the Smarten retrofit, no problem, no wall-cutting.
